Amanda Walther

Amanda Walther (she/her) is a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter, award-winning composer, and proudly queer artist based in Toronto, Canada.

She first captured hearts as one half of the acclaimed folk-roots duo Dala, touring across North America for over 20 years and sharing the stage with legends such as Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Jann Arden, and Tom Cochrane. Dala’s PBS special Girls from the North Country earned Amanda a Canadian Folk Music Award and a Juno nomination, with performances at iconic festivals like Newport Folk and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

Amanda now pours her love of melody into Dizzy & Fay, a piano/vocal songwriting duo with pianist and producer Mark Lalama. Together, they’ve released two full-length albums of original music that are currently spinning on jazz radio throughout Canada and the U.S. Their songs—romantic, timeless, and deeply human—echo the spirit of the Great American Songbook with effortless magnetic chemistry.

Amanda's music has appeared in numerous television shows, and her score for the LGBTQ+ indie film Walk With Me earned her Best Female Composer at the Toronto International Women Festival and Best Soundtrack at the Immaginaria Film Festival in Rome, Italy.

A passionate multidisciplinary artist, Amanda continues to explore creative forms beyond music. She has produced and directed music videos for a variety of artists, including Dizzy & Fay, and created a fully animated video using the meticulous, frame-by-frame technique of rotoscoping. She also plays a key role behind the scenes, shaping the visual and online identities of her projects—managing social media, creating brand assets, and leading digital storytelling with thoughtfulness and originality.

Whether painting, designing album artwork, or creating content behind the camera, Amanda brings a handcrafted, deeply personal touch to all that she does.
